Gochang-gun raises subtropical 'Apple Mango' as high-income crop

Gochang-gun, North Jeolla Province, will focus on fostering "Apple Mango" as a new subtropical high-income crop.
According to the Gochang-gun Agricultural Technology Center on the 31st, "Apple Mango" was selected as a subtropical fruit suitable for the local agricultural environment. Apple Mango is known as a subtropical crop with relatively low labor and high income.

The county will invest 300 million won in the total project cost this year to supply Apple Mango to provide seedlings and thermal materials to farmers.
In addition, 50% of the facilities and heating facilities essential for subtropical fruits are subsidized.
Earlier on the 24th, it signed an MOU (business agreement) with Allgorun Co., Ltd., a domestic tropical fruit distributor.
Gochang-gun and Allgorun plan to select excellent farmers for local apple mango cultivation and introduce high-quality apple mango varieties through grafting support to contribute to local agriculture and economic development.
Hyun Hyun-yeol, director of the Gochang-gun Agricultural Technology Center, said, "We are pursuing Apple Mango pilot projects as items that can quickly respond to increasing climate change and increase farmers' income."
