Allgorun Co., Ltd., a leader in tropical crops at home and abroad, held a tropical fruit farm education and business briefing centered on Apple Mango at the Jae-cheon Agricultural Technology Center on October 11, 2024.
The briefing session was organized to explore the future of agriculture through cooperation with local farmers, including technology and market trends related to apple mango cultivation, and Allgorun's future plans.
Due to the expansion of tropical fruit cultivation due to climate change in Korea, the cultivation of tropical fruits such as apple mangoes is expanding beyond Jeju Island to southern region and the country. Apple mango cultivation, which was previously concentrated in Jeju Island, is now expanding inland, providing new opportunities for farmers.
In order to provide cultivation technology and support suitable for farmers in line with this climate change, Allgorun Co., Ltd. introduced the advantages of Allgorun's four-year-old apple mango seedlings, along with ways to convert to apple mango cultivation using existing agricultural facilities.
In general, using two-year-old seedlings requires three years of cultivation, but introduces the advantages of Apple Mango seedlings with four-year-olds or older owned by Allgorun, and generally requires more than three years of cultivation when using two-year-old seedlings, but Allgorun's four-year-old seedlings can be harvested within a year, reducing the economic burden on farmers.
Allgorun emphasized that apple mango cultivation is a crop that can maximize profitability with less labor than other fruits, and said that the farm of about 3,306㎡ requires less labor than two couples can manage and is highly profitable, especially because it is more profitable per unit area than previously grown crops.
In addition, Jae-cheon has a rather cold climate compared to other regions, but it has a great advantage in that it is possible to cultivate apple mangoes using existing greenhouse facilities.
At this briefing session, he explained in detail the customized cultivation technology and greenhouse structure for Jecheon farmers and plans to promote the revitalization of local agriculture.
Allgorun Co., Ltd. announced plans to introduce a new Apple Mango variety in Korea based on more than 16 years of cultivation experience in cooperation with Miyaki Corporation of Japan.
Miyaki is also a leading company in Japan in terms of Apple Mango cultivation technology, and Allgorun is said to want to lead the advancement of cultivation technology in Korea through cooperation with them.
In addition, Allgorun introduced not only general apple mangoes but also various high-end varieties of tropical fruits such as Noble, Hawaiian pingle, and Hawaiian pinks, which are registered as brand new Australian apple mangoes.
An official of Allgorun Co., Ltd. said, "We aim to export high-quality tropical fruits produced in Korea abroad," and added, "We have a vision to revitalize the local economy and grow into Korea's representative tropical fruit exporter by revitalizing cultivation in rural areas such as Jae-cheon in the future."
